POLICE WILL RECORD STATEMENT FROM SAMY VELLU OVER KRISHNASAMY’S DEATH THREATS
JOHOR BAHARU, Dec 12 -- The police will be taking statements from the MIC presidentDatuk Seri S. Samy Vellu over his claim that Tenggaroh State Legislative AssemblymanDatuk S. Krishnasamy had been receiving death threats before he found dead with agun shot wound in a lift at MIC building at Jalan Segget here on Friday.
“We will ask him (about the dead threats), we also want to know,” said InspectorGeneral of Police Tan Sri Musa Hassan here today.He was swarmed by pressmen here after attending a meeting with state policeofficials on the case at the Johor Police Contingent Headquarters.
Musa declined to say much about the case as it was still under investigationTo a question, Musa said he may visit the crime scene tomorow Samy Vellu, who is Works Minister, said Krishnasamy, who was Johor MIC deputychairman, informed him of the threats before he left for India on an official visit.
"He said the threats went on for a week but he did not take it seriously. I didadvise him to be careful. That is all I can say," he was quoted saying when met bythe press when he came to the residence of the late assemblyman in Bandar Putra heretoday.
Samy Vellu said that for a politician or elected individual, receiving threats fromdissatisfied people was normal but in this case, it was too much.Meanwhile, the police still cordon off the MIC building and shoo away public memberswho wanted to take a close look at the crime scene.
They have opened the grill gate of the MIC office for the supposed visit by Musa butclosed it at 7pm when the IGP cancelled his visit.
